Method to send Multimedia Messages (MM) on terminals which would naturally not support the MMS Application
Idea: Thorsten Duscha, DE-Salzgitter; Marc Schlueter, DE-Salzgitter; Klaus von Treufels, DE-Salzgitter
This invention provides the possibility to send Multimedia Messages (MM) according to the 3G (mobiles of the third generation) specifications and MMS Conformance Document on non-MMS- capable terminal by using the platform independent Java Mobile Edition application within a MMS supported infrastructure. The only prerequisite is that the terminal has to provide the Java functionality. The composition interface allows to add slides to the MM of any file format supported by the file system of the terminal. These files may be downloaded to the terminal by a data exchange software from a PC.
In addition to these advantages, it is easier to update the software in comparision to an update of a hard coded MMS software in a mobile. The user can use it with his old by contract bounded terminal.
