Remote Microphone
Control and audio signals in a dictating system are transmitted over a commercial power circuit. Remote station RS is connected to a central recording station CR by commercial lines 1. RS and CR have transmitter-receiver units 2 and 3 that are coupled to the lines 1 by capacitors 4...7.
During dictation, controls on microphone handset 8 are manipulated to activate tone generators and control logic 9, and modulator 10 for transmission. Any generated signal from RS is received at CR, detected by detector 11 and through logic 12 effects control of dictation machine 13.
The dictator is informed of the condition of dictation machine 13 or other conditions by signals transmitted from CR to RS. A network operation can be accommodated by providing multichannel switching of the carrier frequency at stations RS and CR.
