System and Method for X.25 WAN communications over Infiniband hardware

X.25 is a reliable and connection oriented WAN communications protocol. X.25 is widely used where reliable and secure communication is highly important (e.g. Bank ATMs).X.25 is the most
preferred WAN communications protocol which is still used by many customers world wide
especially Europe.
Currently, inoder to run X.25 application on a host we need to have physical X.25 cards along with X.25 Software Stack on the host. The latest hardwares do not have support for X.25 hardware, however, legacy applications still use X.25 stack to connect to WAN. Existing solutions like X.25 over TCP/IP (XoT) and X.25 over LLC2 layer ( XoL), will enable X.25 communications over ethernet card. However, there is no solution for systems having only Infiniband adapters to have X.25 Communications for X.25 applications. This invention allows
X.25 communications over Infiniband on servers not having X.25 hardware support but only Infiniband hardware.
This method proposes a new module called X.25 over Infiniband (XoIB) which is an interface between X.25 Software Stack and Verbs layer of Infiniband Stack to communicate with the Infiniband Adapter. With the X.25 Software stack and XoIB Module X.25 Applications can have
X.25 Communications and thus avoiding the need for physical X.,25 Hardware.
Native X.25 Software Stack has following layers:
