The main idea is based on monitoring some critical human health indexes like blood pressure, heart beat, temperature along with some physical parameters like acceleration, position, speed. Those data are sent to a central control unit which automatically detects abnormal conditions, and in this case contacts the monitored subject (f.i. using SMS) and waits for his response to understand if it is a false alarm or a real jeopardy condition. If no answer is received in a predefined timeframe, the system alerts emergency services.

Automatic hearbeat system for human resources

The solution includes an agent running on a user device such as a user cell phone and that is adapted to periodically notify a central station whether the user is safe.

    That agent may also communicate its position leveraging on known GPS mechanisms.

    Based on the agent position (and therefore the user position) the central station may require the agent to send the events more frequently if that position is considered critical for the user security (for example, if he is walking on a dark road).

    Sending of events may be triggered automatically or manually and the possibility to switch among the different options or a combination of them is also contemplated.

    Below are some examplary mechanisms for triggering hearbeat events:
- a panic situation about the user is recognized by the agent, which analyzes the user pressure obtained from another device that communicates with the agent via Bluetooth technology;

    - the agent triggers a phone drill asking the user to insert a secret code for triggering the heartbeat event.

    On the server side, the algorithms are adapted to identify if a computer under management that sends heartbeat event is working properly. These algorithms can be used to discover critical situations for humans. Application of these algorithms, thresholds and tolerance on event reception may depend on whether a zone is considered dangerous for people.
